Alice is Dead Chapter 2 has already begun production, me and Hyp are already hard at work and planning it. We're going to address your concerns with length, and try to give you a much longer game.

To address a few common questions/statements

Warning
I've noticed google returning a lot of hits for Alice is Dead - Ep 2. It isn't out yet, and this is the first place I've discussed it.

If you click a link right now for Alice is Dead - Ep 2 you're probably going to
A. get spyware
b. find people trying to find alice is dead ep 2
c. find people who found spyware trying to get alice is dead ep 2

But you are not going to find Alice is Dead - Ep 2. It isn't out yet. My point is be careful and do not click any suspicious looking links. Feel free to donate to Nigerian princes however, they are a very kind people.

Breifcase
Yes, I know I wrote briefcase as breifcase. I had adjusted the timing on that cut scene and rewrote the phrasing so many times it slipped under the radar.

When's Chapter 2 Coming Out?

When it's ready. I know that's probably not the answer you wanted, I'd give an exact date, but the fact is if we don't feel like it's quality, we're not going to release it. Just by my estimation on how long it might take us to create it, I'd expect an October release. No, we won't hold out and release it on Halloween, we will release it as soon as it's complete and sponsor negotiations are finished.

Kongregate

If you've messaged me or done anything to me on Kongregate, I'm sorry if I don't respond. I'm still very new to that system and I'm trying to figure it out. NegativeONE is helping me, but I still feel lost with some things.

Imagine if you will, your oldest relative sitting down and trying to play your Xbox 360. Trying to figure out what input to put the television on, worrying what the glowing green light on the controller means, and having a violent Vietnam flashback when the controller shakes. This is the degree of confusion I am experiencing right now, so I just want you to realize I do appreciate any effort you guys are making to contact me.

We just want to thank you guys again for the enormous show of support for the game. We had no idea that it would be this successful or popular and we're just trying to cope. It truly is overwhelming, I've been here for 5 years now and I haven't experienced anything like this.

If anyone has any other questions feel free to ask here, although I will warn you they might not be answered if the answer will spoil something in the near future.

The first one is a bit linear, the second one is going to have some more routes/options. We're still going to try to avoid having the player straight up lose or fail and have to restart, because that's just tedious, but there are going to be slightly different experiences for how you play, so medals may very well be feasible in 2.

I loved the game..... Was American McGee any inspiration in this? I know your concept is different I'm not claiming anything. I love dark things and Wonderland is a fine place to have it happen. BTW I think the Henry Hall song was the right touch for Ep 1. Will be looking forward to Ep 2.

I've honestly never played American McGee. I WAS aware of it only in the sense that it was a dark take on Alice, but I know very little about it. I don't intend to play it either, I rather keep approaching this with a fresh take.

I have played Bioshock and Fallout however, so my appreciation of those may be present. Though, truthfully, the 40s-50s in general are a very interesting time period, both musically and visually.

Great game, music was very fitting, I just hope chapter 2 will be as good, or even better!
Thats weird you didnt want chapter 1 to be sponsored or even have paid ads. Its a good game, you could proft a bit from it :)

I really found the length of the game to be pretty good, its not bad to make it larger, just don't drag the story to make it bigger, i love how everthing in episode 1 its direct and let the atmosphere to stay fresh.

It's hard for a point and click game to grab my attention but this did it, nice job with the lock part it makes you investigate more and stuff. Preety nice plot too, love the ending, it would also rock as an animation I can imagine it.

I'm in love with anything that expands on the Wonderland tale, especially the continuations where something is awry. And then your song selection... You, Sir, have some good taste. i notice on kongregate it said the game was apologetically hard, but i honestly didnt find it to be that challenging, i saw other people couldent make it out of the cave though, but still i wouldent mind it being a bit harder

I like the fact that the game exudes somewhat of an eeriness about it, mostly due to the music one could say, whether that was intentional or not I don't know, but it certainly works well and it does pay tribute to the original tone of the novel upon which the first film was based. To be honest, I like dark and creepy and this game is just that. However, that's not to say it's not without its faults. To begin with, the puzzles are far too easy for my liking. I'm not sure what your target audience is and perhaps I just want more flash games for near 20 year-olds out there, but I feel as though the difficulty of the sequel should be notched up a little. Another aspect of the game that could be improved would be the puzzles. They lack originality and a certain 'wow' factor about them in my opinion. I'm sure you could be much more creative with them. Going on, I see the Hush, Hush, Hush, Here Comes The Bogey Man song by Henry Hall as a solo instrument doing a great job on its own without an orchestra. It gets very repetitive and although I do really like it, I feel that it would be a bit lazy not to add some variety in the next iteration. That could only work to the betterment of the game. I hope I haven't been too harsh with my critique and that it has been constructive.

Hey I loved this game, if you're concerned with length, maybe try some voice acting and sound effects. I worked on a similar genre of game called Jack French and with voice acting it not only keeps people from skipping through all the dialogue but also adds an additional layer of depth
